Too soon?????

I'm not talking about a tasteless Steve Irwin or Katrina joke. I'm talking about Christmas lights.

I was wandering about town this weekend, and noticed that a few houses were already putting up their Christmas lights. Now grated, it WAS about 80 degrees all weekend long, but for God's sake, it was still OCTOBER at that time. So I have to ask... what is the proper ettiquite for holiday light hanging? I'm a home-renter now... so I've got some room to decorate... but when is it considered OK to start dangling the icicles? (wow that sounded dirty) Now that it's November, is it Kosher?

I say wait until at LEAST the Thanksgiving-ish times before starting. Remember Thanksgiving? The weekend of the heaviest travel in the USA? Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing? Remember this holiday? No. OK. There's just Christmas. At least in the stores. Wal-Mart here was getting their Christmas aisle ready as they sold all the candy in the Halloween aisle.

I say wait on the lights... but I think this guy wishes otherwise:

WOW-OUCH, SOMEONE HAS WAAAY TOO MUCH TIME ON THEIR HANDS. ALTHOUGH I CAN'T TELL IF IT'S THE HOMEOWNER OR THE CAMERA PERSON.
